I really want this to go to a GOOD home where it will be appreciated and lovingly used. Ive had it for almost 2 decades, always kept in a closet, cone down on a shelf. Years ago I found it mounted in a plywood box with real heavy '50s style grill cloth, sufficiently thick and stiff so that it served as good protection. The cab was basically a home-made hunk of junk, with no reinforcement or stiffening and a terrible finish, and it was made worse by having been built from the cheapest construction grade plywood that buzzed and rattled from loose laminations and void inclusions. The cabinet was re-cycled into shelving, so it did not go to waste, and the driver has been waiting fro a proper home since. Had I not just lucked into the JBL NOS drivers/horns/lens etc, this Altec would have been FINALLY due for a new cabinet this winter. It took a while, but I finally got the last bits a pieces to assemble the vintage mono system i have wanted for years....and now that we are getting older, husband and I are looking at the huge list of unfinished projects he have accumulated over the past decades, and all the collected items, and realizing that we won't be able to do it all, so are starting to thin out the projects and collection. We dont really need 2 different mono speakers, and don't have the room either.
